This Privacy Policy explains how TrueNMS collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit the website or use the hosted monitoring service, probes, notifications, and related features (collectively, the “Service”).

1. Information collected

  • Account information: name, email address, username, country, timezone, organization, authentication settings, and account preferences.
  • Billing information: plan, subscription status, transaction references, and billing contact details. Payment card information may be processed directly by a payment provider rather than stored by TrueNMS.
  • Monitoring information: device names, targets, locations, sensor configuration, probe information, check results, latency, traffic measurements, incidents, uptime, certificate metadata, and alert recipients.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, session data, request logs, security events, cookies, and diagnostic information.
  • Communications: support requests, feedback, and other messages sent to TrueNMS.

2. How information is used

Information is used to provide and administer accounts, perform monitoring, display history and maps, send alerts and security messages, process subscriptions, provide support, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, maintain security, comply with law, and improve the Service.

3. Legal bases

Where applicable, information is processed to perform the contract with you, pursue legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, comply with legal obligations, and act on consent where consent is required.

4. Sharing and service providers

Information may be shared with infrastructure, email delivery, payment, security, analytics, mapping, and support providers that process it on TrueNMS’s behalf. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect rights or safety, in connection with a business transaction, or at your direction. TrueNMS does not sell personal information.

5. Probes and monitoring targets

Private and cloud probes transmit monitoring jobs, results, heartbeat information, and relevant diagnostics to the Service. Customers determine which authorized targets are monitored and are responsible for providing notices and obtaining permissions required for monitoring and submitting related data.

6. Cookies and sessions

The Service uses cookies and similar storage necessary for authentication, security, sessions, preferences, and functionality, including theme preferences. Third-party features such as reCAPTCHA, maps, billing, or email services may process technical information under their own privacy terms.

7. Retention

Information is retained for as long as reasonably needed to provide the Service, maintain monitoring history, meet contractual and legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary by information type, plan, account status, and backup cycle.

8. Security

TrueNMS uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No Internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed. You are responsible for protecting credentials and configuring access appropriately.

9. International processing

Information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, reasonable safeguards are used for international transfers. Laws in those countries may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

10. Your choices and rights

You may update account and organization information through the Service. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information, and to withdraw consent. Requests may be subject to identity verification and legal exceptions.

11. Children

The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. TrueNMS does not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

12. Policy changes

TrueNMS may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or other reasonable means, and the effective date above will be updated.

13. Contact

Privacy questions or rights requests may be submitted through the support contact information made available by TrueNMS or through your account’s normal support channel.
